Hi

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor to either a 22" or 24" monitor. It will be used for general web browsing and office applications. I am also looking to get a Xbox 360 to run through it. Any ideas on what is a good monitor for this and what the best connection would be? Probably looking to spend upto £250.

Cheers

I've got the BenQ G2400W 24inch. It's really great. HDMI, DVI and VGA inputs, audio out for the hdmi. Support for 1:1, meaning the 1080p image will be perfect on the screen. Just a really basic, decently looking, nothing shiny good performing monitor.

Just make sure you get the newest xbox with the HDMI output and not just the component. All newer models have it.

I don't think that make the non HDMI xbox 360's anymore. But yeah, get a monitor with 1080p res, 1:1 pixel mapping and hdmi input and you will be set to go.

Hey ZoRzEr is that G2400WT or G2400WD? Also, if I connect with a HDMI cable will that run the audio from the Xbox 360 through the monitor as well?

I have the BenQ G2400W 24inch , lovely screen.

I use mine for PC gaming, so cannot comment on HDMI / 360 input.

BUT what I would say (not that I have tested) is that you really, really DONT want to use the built in speakers from any monitor!

They are not built like TV's where you expect good sound; they are passable for system 'beeps' at best! = Get a cheap 2.1/5.1 setup instead.

P.S - Why dont Overclockers stock any BenQ monitors?

Thanks for the reply. I have a set of creative I-Trigue 2.1 speakers with my Pc. What would be the best way to hook them up?

The monitor would be this one:

I think it's the G2400WD version. And yes if you use the HDMi on the xbox it will channel the sound through the monitor so you can get a decent 2.1 system like this one :

And just plug it into the monitor, the 3.5mm plug is on the right side of the monitor, meaning the least amount of cables. I could post a picture for you to show my setup. I use the monitor both for Xbox and my PC.
