These were found on a CD-R recently, taken by a worker from September 2001 - October 2001 during the initial clean up stages and were taken on a Canon Powershot G1...

Amazing photos and you really get a sense of the destruction but also the dedication of the clean up teams. The guy who took them has passed away so no further information is supplied.

There is a bit more info on a Twitter thread here...

    Truly amazing.

The utter devastation. You can see how difficult it was to find any human remains etc.

some conspiracy sites will be trawling through them all looking for the least little thing. "why are they so blurry in some shots? they're obviously covering up some detail."

@Raymond Lin I can see now why you keep that IP lawyer on retainer. This guy's stolen your blur! Go get 'em champ!

I dont think they were taken to win any awards! They are there for people to see the recorded devastation caused by the events of that day.

I think this one really highlights how bad it was. The diggers are tiny, working through the night, those workers went through hell, huge respect to them as well :(

The things some of that clean up crew must have seen. Also, what happens with all this stuff. Such a mix of materials (not least human), glass, concrete, steel, fabric, fluids, did it all just end up in landfill?

Loving the jacked Semi from overloading. Opps!

Human remains were probably extremely tiny.
