Looking for some ideas really, i have a hp lp2475w and im running a 5870 graphics card.
ive heard that you can add two smaller monitors maybe in upright position.

A pair of 20" 4:3 displays, such that the vertical resolution matches that of the 24". The HP LP2065 seems to be almost exactly the same height, which is important in such a setup. Two of those plus your existing 24" would yield 5120 * 1200. The other option is a pair of 17" 4:3 displays rotated 90°, so that they are 1024 x 1280. Not as clean, but a lot cheaper.

thx saundie, something to ponder over, ive been thinking maybe a couple of cheap 24" or 22", a matched pair sorta only for when i game, and use the 24" for everyday use.

Note this option is not currently supported by eyefinity and there is some doubt that it ever will be.

Can I double check that the above will work with Eyefinity - I thought that all 3 monitors had to be the same? I currently have a 24" Dell 1920x1200 and a 1600x1200 4:3 Dell each side (using SoftTH). I decided against getting a new ATI card as I thought I would need three 24" widescreens or it wouldn't work.

Oh, I was hoping it may actually work. Maybe not. I was really looking forward to Eyefinitys 3 monitor setup, but what with needing 3 matching screens, and at least one screen with display port it's not really come together so well in reality.

SoftTH lets you use 3 screens, each at a different resolution and even aspect ratio. And it's free!
