Well, i was in a shop called No competitor talk please!, and they had a 26" hdtv with windows xp installed on it, and showing a movie at the same time. It looked extremely clear and great. It was £600

Then I see everyones going on about the dell 2407, which is £750 (havnt checked) and 24". What benefits does this have over the HDTV, as arent tfts meant to be quite bad for viewing movies..

Cheers

your HDTV will have a resolution of 1360x768

The Monitor has a resolution of 1920x1200

The Monitor will have less lag (Don't care what manufacturers say) My Samsung 191T monitor is rated as 8ms, my Samsung LE32M51 HDTV is rated at 8ms yet I can't bare to use it for anythinng other than watching movies on because of its inherrent lag.

So tired of people putting HDTV's on a desk and rating them as good as monitors.

Dell 2407 COME ON ALLREADY! WANT SOME GOOD REVIEWS WITH MILLIONS OF JUCY SCREENSHOTS PLXX :D

it will look as "big" as it's physical dimensions :s

I don't know which will be better for viewing tv/video's as I haven't yet seen any good reviews of the 2407, try looking at a 2405 for comparrison. The TV is designed for watching videos, so perhaps that will be better :)

well LCD TV responsiveness does vary to desktop TFT responsiveness. However, the size of the screen and the resolution plays a factor here since you may be more susceptable to the blurring and/or ghosting since the screens are generally much bigger and the resolutions are smaller. From a suitable distance (Several metres away) they are still pretty good. I haven't seen enough top of the range LCD TV's to compare really. Plasma TV's are supposed to offer a better response time though and less ghosting / blurring, so if this is a concern, maybe consider that technology instead of LCD.
