Well, I've just got my new Dell 2407WFP and have noticed a black bar down the right hand side. I have the resolution set to 1920x1200 in ATi Catalyst and in everything else I do.

I've tried using the monitor control panel thing to move the screen image or whatever to the right but the image just seems to move behind it.

I'm using a VGA cable with a DVI cable attached to the graphics card end; do I need to buy a proper DVI-D cable and have that in both the monitor and the graphics card?

I didn't notice it for a bit, but now it's slightly bothering me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

EDIT: I've just noticed that there's one at the top of the screen too. And a smaller one at the bottonm. The left side is fine though.

Yeah, there was one in there, just plugged it in, (there's no difference in visual quality as far as I can see) and that black bar is there. I've tried auto-adjusting, but that does nothing - even when there's no cable plugged in and it comes up with the "no xxxxx cable" screen that black bar is still there - as if that's not even part of the monitor screen :/

Can't get any pics - but I've tried drawing it in paint - the red lines are where the black bars are.

this is an expensive monitor, I wouldn't accept that! Every screen i've had has had perfect alignment, I'd be very disappointed with that after spending £500 on it.

Yeah, I am a bit - but in a rather sadistic way, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has it

Problem is, I would send it back, and get it replaced, but I had hassle with them trying to deliver it (had to go to the depot, I'm at Uni halls of residence) and I know it'd be impossible for them to pick it up for the next 6 weeks.

I guess I'll just have to get used to it, it's not a drastic problem, oh well.

Thanks all for your replies.
