Do you want me to give you a list with explanations of investments thought to be as safe, or safer than Zopa? They're all different types of investments and they all were seen to be as safe as, erm, houses (that's another), and they all crashed hard.

I'm not. I'm comparing promises on an investment claiming to be safe entirely based on previous history to two other investments which promised to be safe entirely based on previous history which went breasts up.

No one has claimed Zopa is entirely safe. It isn't - the page sets that out too. You're lending money to people and entrusting Zopa to enforce it (which they don't always do).
