£119 plus delivery? I can't believe it. There's reasonable mark up and then there's this. You can find the Evo850 250gb version for under £90 in plenty of places.

they dropped as low as £60 at one point as this was when i got mine but over recent months they have been going up loads

cant believe that the SSD is that price now.

I dont mind paying a bit more to get it from OCUK due to their customer service etc

Yes, it was £96 if i remember right on Black Friday deals. I actually bought 2 and If i remember the second was £115 so both in total were around the £220 mark. I'll check when I get home.

*edit* It was £208.93 for both. One was £117.94 so the other was £90.99. If I had known the prices would go up so much I would have bought 4.

Mobile phones are a big part of the problem. Apple's new iPhone now has 128GB flash...

Along with all the other reasons (3D transition, etc).

Supply down, demand way up :(

So you think to put the price of a product up is illegal? Mmmmkay

Prices have been rising steadily for a number of years, think back to before the floods in Thailand, Hdds were pennies hell I bought 16Gb of 1600mhz Kingston HyperX RAM for £35 4 or so years ago

The prices have risen so much on SSDs, it's depressing. My 500GB 850 Evo was £90.

Makes me less likely to upgrade any time soon! I'm sure I'll get over-excited whenever I next upgrade my mobo and go nvme or something... but it'll probably be a tiny wee drive rather than finally getting to a size where I don't really think about it.

Silly of you to say that... What I meant was price fixing: link, link, link and so on.

I got the 850 EVO in 256 and 500 GB sizes. Both work just fine - no noticeable difference in real work performance. They are both in my old T510 notebook. 256 is OS and 500 is data.

Yeah I had the same today, looked on Overclockers for the 500gb and was shocked at £210, so I checked another site and it was £140.
