256 MB of GDDR3 or 512 MB of GDDR2 - which is better?

As above, resolution we're talking is only 1440 x 900.

Sorry, typo, I meant 256 GDDR3 vs 512 GDDR2.

256mb GDDR3 > 512mb GDDR2

GDDR2 will be clocked slower than DDR3 and I would imagine the card itself will be clocked slower therefore the overall package will be quicker with the DDR3 card.

Also most cards with DDR2 memory are not quick enough to make use of the extra memory anyway.

DDR3 has greater bandwidth.
