260 65 or 55? which one overclocks better?

Hi there,

as per title, with one is better overclocker, the 65nm or the 55nm? I heard the 65nm has better heatsink so overclocks better

The 65nm card has the GTX 280 cooler so may clock better but hard to tell. Resale value will be better on the 55nm card i would think.

But only if heat is an issue. I have the 216sp GTX260 and it never goes above 59C at 721/1543 overclocked so not heat holding me back.

Is it a 65 or 55nm card though?

Go for a cheap 216sp 65nm, better cooler and by all accounts the 65's and 55's clock to about the same speed.

My 260-216 65nm really is dead silent and iv not thought it was worth watercooling. The cooler is very very good and it clocks really well too.

Nope same card but on the 55nm process and a crappy cooler.

Thanks guys. I just read old cooler is much better but the 55nm version runs cooler and overclocks more reaching similar performance than the 280 GTX

I might get the first 196, there are very cheap righ now. However I wonder if a 4870 512MB would be better option?
