I’m putting together a gaming setup for my son and need a monitor to finish off the package. I have around £600 to spend and there seems to be a lot of choices. Can you advise on something that is tried and tested or perhaps something that will be worth waiting for in the next month. Thanks

Need more to go on mate, preferred resolution (1440p tends to be the sweet spot for 27"), what refresh rate you're aiming for, etc.

At the moment £600 will get you a ROG Swift 1440p 165Hz full G-Sync monitor, but there are 240Hz IPS models coming out in August.

You also have the new Samsung G7 VA 1440p 240Hz that have just been released.

Well the 4K resolution displays are attractive but the issue around these at this price point is the refresh rate.
, although I’m guessing in a 27” screen this 2160p resolution may be overkill. The 1440p resolution looks to be the acceptable display resolution right now with decent refresh rates. I saw news of a new Dell monitor with a 165hz refresh rate due at the end of July, not sure if this will be available in the UK right off or indeed if it’s worth holding out for. I’ll check out the Samsung as this was not one I’d considered before.

Once they become more widely available the LG 27GN950-B 4k 144Hz.

The EVE Spectrum (model 3) 4k 144Hz uses the same panel and has better specs such as HDMI 2.1.

Does depend how much your willing to sink into a graphics card too, I'd assume you'd need a very top tier card from the next gen to drive 4k at top range of fps.
