Sweet jesus.

Tom.

Charlies certainly got a lot further with the Rover since I last saw it.

I need to see this car when it's finished.

*n

'tis Charlie who writes for PPC car. I belive the engine is a Rolls Royce Meteor sourced from some sort of tank. The aim is to do 200+ MPH in the SD! :D

Is a Meteor from a tank, yea

Is geared down via some kind of..thing... so that the torque figure isn't too big (still 4xx lb/ft, down from 12xx...)

OMGZ I THINKZ I JUST DONE A SEX WEE!!

:D

Not quite, it's not even a proper Rover. Looks like they just used an SD1 shell and some rubbish non-Rover engine. :p

Should be fast :D

If I remember from the first time it appeared in PPC, it's got a gearing from a leyland leopard bus - and at idle will accelerate to 120mph

Why put it in a rover. Surely he could have put it in somthing more aero dynamic :(

How much would one of these engines cost:D

thats going to be one heavy bugger!

(going by the first photo, looks like he got his arms trapped when it was dropped in... by helicopter?!)

How odd, just cause its a Rover doesn't mean its un aerodynamic. Surely you should have said SD1 rather than Rover.

I dont think aerodynamics are going to be too bad on an SD1. Main reason he chose that is probably cause its a massive car! needs to be for that engine

What....? Really? You could seriously get insurance and road tax and M.O.T. for that and drive it about without probs?
Yep. Road tax would be standard rates (up to £160), MOT easily do-able providing it meets the regulations, and insurance will likely be pittance because it will go on a classic/modified policy with rediculously low restricted mileage.
