I recently purchased an Asus VG278H 27" 1920x1080, coming from a 24" Benq 1920x1200 and am not very happy with it.

I find the 3d function uncomfortable and the resolution drop on a larger screen is really noticeable so I am sending it back.

I am looking to get a non 3d monitor, 27", but at a nice resolution.

Can anyone recommend a 2d monitor with a high resolution at around the £500 mark?

I was looking at possibly the Dell UltraSharp U2711 27", what are the thoughts on that?

Do people notice a very big performance hit going to 2560x1440 from 1920x1200?

I am using an i5 2500k + GTX680 so I should have the grunt for it.

HAZRO 27WC

Think about the Hazro 27 WC or WD. I use mine for CGI graphics & gaming just bought the WC at just over £400 incl VAT No dead pixels, great colour. I was a little worried about the coating 2H as I hadn't seen any specific ref to it. But turns out to be excellent a good amount of anti-reflection BUT absolutely crisp screen images no flaring as you get with Apple. The're british made and currently in stock - They are highly rated so probably won't be for long! They aren't available through Hazro themselves strangely but are through OCUK and Scan. Only small gripe I have is the stand but its totally outweighed by the value.

Yeah I didn't realise that going from 24" x1200 to 27" x1080 would be so noticeable.

Dell is arriving today :)
