£2k budget - Give my spec the once-over!

Spec v2 is looking sweet :D
(I particularly like the SSD and mouse...)

Fine recommendations Tonester007 ;) Forgot to give you a shout-out. I hadn't noticed how close the 120gb was in price initially - it seems like it could be a worthwhile step-up.

I've not made up my mind fully about the mouse just yet, but the Logitech G500 is certainly among the top contenders. I've had good experiences with Logitech mice in the past.

I'd still go with the Deathadder deal myself...

It's not a bad deal at all, alright. I just had a look there for the first time - having been pre-occupied with bigger-ticket components, mice have been sorely neglected as of yet. :) Looks like a good mouse.

You seem to be saving on things u need to spend money on and over spending on others.

That is a revised version of your list, i have removed the 3d screen and 3d glasses as i think there a waste of money/gimic !! and with them removed u can buy much better gear, hdds /peripherals/cpu cooling/psu. I also changed the motherboard to the gigabyte one as its the same price and i think most people will agree gigabyte are better in general to asrock.

(and i know i love razer abit to much but when u can fit it in the budjet why buy lesser brands? :) )

Thanks for your input trisp, although the spec you suggest isn't to my own taste.

i have removed the 3d screen and 3d glasses as i think there a waste of money/gimic !!

To each their own. The monitor isn't merely a "3d screen", btw - it has lower input lag than most LCD/LED displays, and a refresh rate double that of most LCD/LED displays.

with them removed u can buy much better gear, hdds /peripherals/cpu cooling/psu

Just to pick one example there - I would strongly favour my current cooling choice (Dark Rock Pro) over the H70 for this build. I looked into the H70 earlier, but removed it from consideration after several reviews praised its performance, but criticised its noise level. Indeed, I mentioned that in the original post. :)

Not an ineffective cooler by any means, but I wouldn't call it "much better gear".

I also changed the motherboard to the gigabyte one as its the same price and i think most people will agree gigabyte are better in general to asrock.

I like to evaluate each component individually by features provided, reviews, user experiences etc., rather than by the brand alone.

I can fully understand wanting to get that screen cause god knows its so dam pretty :),

The h70 is only a little bit noiser due to having extra fans ( if u add two fans the h50 it will be about the same noise lvl)

Gigabyte and Asus have the best record when it comes to making good, stable motherboards and reviews are better for the ud4 motherbaord then the asrock one and at the same price i know which one i would choose!
