2nd hand lens for a Canon 450d

Just bought a 450d from the MM, its just the basic kit. I have £130 sat in paypal doing nothing and thought "lens or flash"!

Obviously these will be 2nd hand from the bay or other forums so what would you suggest i look for?

Personally I would save it for a nice lens rather than blow it on a cheap lens you might want to upgrade pretty sharpish. If you are really desperate to spend it though I would look at getting the Yongnuo 565EX. It is supposed to be a very good flash

Yep, keep saving. Once you've been using the camera a while the money will spend itself, you won't have to ask you'll just know!

Define "basic kit"?

If you don't already have one, 50mm f/1.8 II for ~£60 and £40 or so on a polarizer.

So true, I used to have no idea what to buy, now I totally know =]

Sigma 30mm f1.4
Canon 70-200 f4L
Speedlite

Sadly I have the dosh for none of them XD

Good choices! Well, I would say that, considering that + a Tamron 17-50 is my kit

Keep saving, the 30mm and 70-200 f4 are brilliant lenses

Either a 50mm f/1.8, or sell the kit lens and put the money together towards a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8

I need the 30 for a nice prime lens, I love prime photography, walking around Edniburgh just taking photos, on the crop sensor it'll be 48mm equivalent so it'll be a 50 f1.4 essentially

Man the day I finally buy an L lens... I'll be like a child at Christmas!
