Now will the E6400 be better than the E4500.

My choise is save a few quid or not.

Thanx

how about getting the e2180 instead?
it OCs veery well with p35 MBs and reaches over 3GHz with little problems due to its 10x multiplier

Intel C2D 6400 (having it running stable + low temps(mid 50s) @ 3.2GHZ) is less than the 2180 and more cache.

My main reason to upgrade is 4 gig of ram.

in that case if the person you are getting it off can package and send it without a problem, then i say go 2nd hand. its proven what it is capable of and it could save you the time to find the OCing potential of the CPU

I'd be tempted to go for the brand new as it will have better warranty and for only a bit more you are getting brand new sealed items!

Aye go cheaper and get the warranty. My E2180's first boot was at 3.2Ghz no problem at all at 1.34v.

I will push for more but can't be bothered for now but I'm happy at even at 3.2Ghz till I get the urge.

Doesn't make any difference in gaming, only in mega-cpu intensive stuff.
EDIT: The quick reply button screwed up, delete extra posts please.
