i just got the Samsung SM-206BW today, btw, amazing monitor!! totaly love it with my pc.

just having problems with setting it up with my laptop...
got the rez on it set fine with the ATI control centre.

well 1st problem:
how do i set it up as the primary monitor, so my start menu and windows open up on it and all that?
also have it so i can just change a setting and it will turn laptop monitor back to normal (i use my laptop for just about everything and my pc for gaming, so nice just press a button and im on my pc.)

2nd problem:
with it hooked up to laptop with VGA it seems to have a well like flickery efect, ill try and get some pictures or even video of it with camera another time but cant at moment, (btw its perfect with using DVI to my pc)
so im not sure if its monitor, laptop or just a setting.

im unable to set the refreshrate to 75 and have the rez as what it is but i tryed setting it to 75 with a lower rez and it was still like this.

to me its realy annoying...

i might try hooking up my pc using VGA see if its maybe the cable or the monitor...

well thanks for any replys.

p.s.

AMAZING MONITOR!!
totaly sweet watching simpsons on it erlyer, even found a way to set my player (VLC - Videolan) to have 16:10 as default (im not fussed about stretched people im realy used to it and didnt notice much or anything when checking out other videos...)

not had chance to try gaming on it, cant wait

edit:
i fixed abit of the 2nd problem with changing the "Fine" setting to around 80% but theres still a slight flicker through out the screen, i dunno if thats normal for the monitor (havnt realy checked much with my pc but will give it a try soon)

will have a play around with the settings some more and see what i can come up with.

Dont know about others, but my laptop with ATi GPU will not allow the secondary monitor to be the primary, its locked to the laptop display.

i managed to sort problem 1 some setting in ati control panel.

still have abit of flicker and i played around with all the settings and was unable to get it any better :( i can live with it, not a big problem just be nice if it wsnt there...

Glad you got it sorted via the ATI controls but it should be possible via Windows' own too.

On the Settings tab of Display Properties, select the monitor and then check the "Use this device as the primary monitor", then go to the laptop's own display and check the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor". You can then drag the two monitors around in the top section depending on which side of the laptop you have the new screen.
