2Tb internal storage hard drive, what to go for?

I'm after a simple internal storage hard drive - and this seems to provide a good £/Gb ratio:

Is it any good? Anyone have any other recommendations?

I've picked one of these up this morning, just doing a full format now. Seems a fantastic drive for the money, and will be just the job for my new server.

Yup, good drive, nice price on this week only, perfect for storage.

Mine takes a good few seconds to warm up if it's been left idle, but its primary use is storage so access speed isn't an issue tbh.

That's cos you have it set to power down in Windows' Power Options dialogue.

just bought a WD(WD20EARS) 2tb for a couple of pounds more, seems to do everything it says on the tin, however they have just gone up in prices now but if they drop would recommend same drive as samsung just a slightly bigger cache, no problems so far touch wood

Iv just ordered an F4 myself to replace my ageing F1 750GB. Even with the special price here its still cheaper elsewhere.

I've got 2 of these running in raid 1 for my main storage. No problems so far and they are nice a quiet which is important.

I'd have to agree with whats been said. The f4 2TB is fantastic if storage is the only thing on the agenda. If your looking for speed and value then the 2TB hitachi drives are rather fast sporting 7200rpm but there is a clear cut £20+ price difference.

F4's are great drives, I have a stack of them in my WHS. Just be aware of the fact the drive will fail to write data to the drive under certain conditions without a firmware update.
