Hi all, i,ve been getting a lot of problems with my 7900gtx cards, i have had 3 RMA and i still get the same problem's, what do you think is the best thing to do

1: keep on sending them back untill i get 2 good cards

2: send them back and get 1x 7950GX2

and if i go for the 7950GX2 is there better performance than 2x 7900GTX or not?

THANKS.

From what ive seen and heard the 7950X2 appears to equal 2x7900GT's and that there is a problem with the 7900 series and nvidia will be fixing it. 2x7900GTX's will beat one 7950X2

I would keep them and keep sending them back until you get some decent ones.

After 3 RMAs I'd definitely try the 7950s, they seem to be great performers without any glaring problems. The money you save could go towards a DX10 card in the future.

Your telling me after 3 rma's you'd still be happy to keep sending them back and just hope you get two good ones?
Cut your losses and get the 7950. Fair enough it doesn't perform quite as well as 2x7900gtx's but at least it will run and not be in the post getting rma'd more than its in your rig.

Thanks guys, i think ill go with the 7950GX2 jest to get a stable PC for a change
lol, 1 more thing will Quad Sli work on my Mobo?

Yes quad SLI will work on your motherboard and there is some new beta drivers on the Nvidia site that now support quad SLI.I wouldn't bother as even with a FX60 you would still be cpu limited.

I would as its better performance and if they are going to get replaced then that would be fine by me although the wait and hassle of having to probably wouldnt be worth it :D

Depending on the game and resolution you use im not sure. But i doubt you'd be able to notice.

I went from a 7900GTX to a 7950GX2 Extreme Edition and all the games i play have SLI profiles.Best thing to do is look on the Nvidia site for the SLI Zone link & then find the game with SLI link & it lists all the compatable games. When i game doesn't have a SLI profile the card then becomes a 7900GT so frame rates are stll decent for me at 1600 x 1200.
