just about to order a new pc and was wondering which to get

2 8800 gts 360 in sli

or one 8800 gtx oc?

1 8800gtx is much easier as you dont have the hassle of sli and psu
though make sure it will fit into the case
 
My oppion, grab a single 8800 GTS 320MB now.

Then if you need more, you can always grab another latter, and it it isnt fast enough for you, and you think "wow, I need more" send it back under the 7 day distance selling act.

What resolutions do you play? Even 1600x1200 is enough for a single 8800 GTS 320 MB according to Gibbo in the 8800 GTS thread (the one that is around 13 pages long).

well im speding 2k on this pc, and im running it on a dell 24" tft.

Ps will be running it on vista 64 bit, so i can forsee sli being a nightmare on it.

If your spending that much money just get the GTX mate imo. Don't skimp in the graphics department. :)

Tbh I think SLi sounds like more hassle than it's worth. (i.e trying to get it working fully on every game, different drivers, etc etc).

I have the 640Mb GTS and play at 1280x1024, and I would not be happy getting the 320Mb version to play above that resolution. ;)
 
I would buy a single 8800gtx now...and maybe add a second one later when prices has dropped or a game has come out that needed it..
 
SLI is about a boost down the line.

Not buying two at once unless of course they are top line cards like two GTX

Get a single GTX with the forsight of getting another when needed.

Two 320MB GTS in SLI when buying for 400 is nothing but silly.So don't do it.
