Don't actually know if this exists, have been searching amazon for a while and only find USB C adaptors to let you use 3.5mm jack headphones with a usb c device.

I'm looking for the reverse, so i can use the USB C headphones with a normal jack output ... Would this work and does such an adaptor exist?

It could exist but I can't see what anyone would want one.

Converting analogue to digital so you can then connect a set of headphones that'll need to convert it back to analogue seems a bit perverse.

Some explanation about what you're trying to achieve might help.

Want to use one set of headphones (which are usb c) for an older tablet, and a newer phone.

I could just use 3.5mm headphones, or bluetooth ones, but prefer these usb c ones

It does not necessary do that.

I have a Moto Z2 Force and the adapter is just that, and adapter (no little box in-between), it takes an electric signal from the USB pins and it sends the same signal though the 3.5mm jack to the headphones.

Sure most of the ones you can buy contain a DAC but that would be no use to me as the Phone contain the DAC in my case and it does support 24/192.

So I see no reason it cannot be the reverse but would no doubt be hard to find as most have an inline DAC.
