Have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 board and Windows XP Pro 64bit OS and have tried Windows 7 64bit...
both times it showed all 4Gb of ram.
Now after a bios update it shows only 3.99Gb out of 4Gb.....
Anyone have any idea why?

ir probably has a better algorithm for estimating the ram and it has adjusted it slightly - the difference is SO minimal i wonder whether it was worth making a new thread for :p

The 990FX chipset doesn't have onboard graphics.

Is Memory Remapping enabled in BIOS?

I wouldn't worry about it, it might be the BIOS preserving more RAM for system files. It's only a 10mb loss anyway :).
