3 new X360 Oblivion shots.....WOW...

Friday 24th, so only 10 days away now. I want this game so much it's almost painful.

Edit: And in that first image linked to, I get a real urge to want to whip out a bow and arrow, shoot her off the horse and steal it and whatever she's carrying. :/

Pah.. i want to run straight at that water.. then to that structure in the far distance.. then to the mountains behind.. and look back to see where i ran from!

Robbing Scousers :/

Ill have to wait til i get home to see those properly as the monitors here are pants. All I've seen before look stunning.

I have a question though which I didn't feel warranted a new thread, so here goes.

For someone like me who isn't really into any type of RPG (played 10 minutes of Morrowind, and Deus Ex being the only one I've really played, and enjoyed), would this game be a worthwhile purchase? I mean the whole idea of the game seems appealing from what I've read, an almost endless adventure in medieval fantasy world, and then there's the value for money angle, but would I actually enjoy it and be able to fully immerse myself in it?

This shot isn't impressive: http://www.shacknews.com/screens.x/tes4/The+Elder+Scrolls+IV:+Oblivion/1/031306/obx25B.jpg

Look slightly beyond the road and you'll see a teeny bit of foliage, then it suddenly cuts off. You can trace a line all the way up to the wall on the right where the foliage has ended. Then if you look at the left after the water, the beach has a low res stretched (warped) texture. Beyond that all the 'grass' is a single low res texture over the terrain with the trees being simple billboards. The outdoor terrain is definitely a case of 'super impressive close-up, 5 years old beyond the cut-off distance'.

The other shots are nice tho, but they're all close range.

I never really got into Daggerfall or Morrowind, so hopefully this will be 3rd time lucky for me. There just seems to be something about it which will appeal to me a little more than the previous 2 games. That fact that it will be on the 360 will help as well i think.

I was just thinking exactly that, can't find any decent previews that tell me if I will like it or not, someone sell it to me too :)

This thing better not have sodding Cliff..er those winged giant bat buggers from Morrowind...

I can't view the image at work - it is classified as violence

Our network is now routed via the USA offices and they have a really stringent policy on internet useage.

Me too, I know nothing about it. This place has a habit of selling games to me, so do your worst :)
