May need to buy a cheap car for a relative, £300 is most I am willing to spend (we know we won't get this money back) tbh.

Autotrader shows 1 car in 10 miles! Not good.

Must have tax, longish mot and be somewhere around Bristol!

Really struggling :(

I'm thinking an old micra, maybe escort or something?

Have a drive around local and see if you can see anything on the side of the road for sale, or find something by word of mouth...
:)

Autotrader's not the place for cheap runners. Get your local papers out, Gumtree, Loot, Friday Ads, the local auction, that kind of thing (or sub-10 mile search on eBay).

Ebay seems crap for local area which is shocking considering Bristol is hardly small

The 2 laybys that people use local have a Saab and a 106 in them, both over £700 :(

Do you have local "private sales" car auction place?

MASSIVE risk, but most stuff for this money is going to be.

Don't have the time to look at lots of cars and consider their worth at an auction tbh.

I'll grab the trade-it tomorrow think a new one is out then

Anyway, what sort of cars should I be looking at here at this budget?

Ones with 12 months MOT.

Beyond that? it's the sub £300 market. I just sold a Mondeo for just under £200 with a broken engine and loads of rust. Fully working reliable cars just.. cost more!

Sounds like another job for Saab 900 man to me !!

Lets call him on the Saab phone!

Series 1 2.0 RXE Scenic. I swear you'll just keep taxing and MOT'ing it for the lols after a while, hoping it'll die so you can post on the internet that it finally died. But it won't :D

I got this for £240, tax for 2 months and 7 month's MOT :p
