30xx Series Founders Edition

Just got the 3080 confirmation email as well - thanks all on this site for the guidance on setting up alerts!

Now I just need to pick out the rest of the PC to handle it.....:)

I think I've finally bagged a 3080 FE! First time I've ever been at home for a drop and despite having a bit of a mare with inputting payment details (& having left my wallet in the car!) (I also thought amazon pay wass a payment method...) I'm currently awaiting picking.

Phew!

Looking through the thread, it seems so.. will just have to wait a few hours and see what happens
well i wasnt quick. on the phone when I had to put my site password in, lastpass took control and pushed me back to the telegram alert page, rather than the browser ! But it will be what it is. I''m not too fussed. But I would like to swop out this 1080ti to something that will give e a few years whilst the 1080ti is still worth something.

I had the mythical 3080 FE on shopping basket, passed verification on mobile bank app .. and we cannot process your payment, ha-ha! And helpfully deleted the shopping basket so no trying again to sort the problem, bleep bleep bleepety bleep.

Next opportunity after n weeks and some 30 seconds time window.

Anyone done the thermal pad mod on the 3080 FE and care to say what pads/thicknesses they used?

Thanks

I was hitting 110c on vram with pads replaced its in the 80s
Gelid GP Extreme Thermal Pads 2mm, 80x40 for the die side , you dont have to do the back side uses GP Extreme 3.0mm 80x40 need 2 . I did mine twice one with back and one just the stock and only took off 2c for Vram with back pads replaced does need more effort I wouldnt bother all I did for the back side was this
