Hi all,

Firstly i have never done anything like this and need the commitment to myself rather than wasting my time like i did last year. So what better than a 52 for 2012. A photo captured every week, total randomness, no theme so that things can keep fluid, whether it be important things in my life or me walking about with the camera.

A little about me, I have just finished my first year as a wedding photographer, a lot still to learn but confidence inspiring amount of work coming my way and not at rock bottom prices either. That must say something at least. (The fact that all the others were booked can be overlooked :D) I have a young daughter who may feature heavily in this 52 so please bare with the amount of insanly cute photos of her! ;). My other hobbies are Mountain biking (which i also pushed aside last year) Music (which i dont get time for). As you can see i have let my passions go somewhat last year and this 52 should re spark my main one which is photography.

I hope i can keep it upto date as much as i can and since we are already into week 2 of this year i better start with weeks 1 image.

I will try and add a little dialogue to each image and hope that anyone will feel free to comment as they wish.

The above image is of my daughter Ruby Anne, (told you she would feature in this) she 16 months old, uses my photo back pack as a chair, puts finger rpintsa over my lenses and thinks lens hood are a waste of time as she normally flings them across the room and tried and picks up the lens i just cleaned! Ok not much to this image i will be first to agree, however i picked up this gem of a lens and i was testing it round at my sister in laws. Who knows this lens may also feature heavily in this years 52!

Well we are in week 2 so a shot i took yeaterday prancing about in my new slippers and wanting to show them off!

It was taken whilst wating for an email to arrive, always time to put your feet up!

I was about to question what the 33L's was, i thought it was a lens, and you made a typo of the 35L, then i realised it was your name!

Good start so far, your daughter is cute :)

I had the name 33L for a while before getting into photography. Good things there isnt a 33L as that would come across a little sad i think!

thanks for the comments

Small photo projects like this are much tougher then they seem, Im currently doing one at the moment and it was supposed to only last for 3 months but I keep changing the goal posts because I cant find the time to shoot stuff.

Rick Nunn recently finished his 50 1.4 project which was very inspirational, if I could use light even half as good as he does id be in photographic heaven ;)

Best of luck with the 52! I'm sure we'll all give you a kick up the rear if you start slacking :D

Agreed, he has some very inspirational work and certainly got me thinking more about using the 50mm FL a bit more.

Amazing!

I am trying to do this as a new years resolution (take at least one decent photo per week!) and it is proving harder than I thought (especially when I go to work and its dark and when I get in from work its dark!). I'm also trying to get them to fit in with OCUKs photo comp so it gives me a rough idea of what to shoot :)

Met some of the cast of This is England this weekend and thought it would be fitting to add it to my 52 Challenge. Its a film and series i have loved from the outset so its nice to see them around! The film is was shot in Sheffield and this shot taken in one of the local pubs in the center - The Washington.

This is Fay and Shaun, Real names: Charlotte Tyree & Thomas Turgoose.

I'm going to do a 'Project 12'

I've tried 365's and 52's before...one a month should be doable :p

Deja vu :D

I'm going to do a photo12, but I already have let 22 days pass without picking up the camera other than to take photos of my new kitten :D

seems i have been misinformed and the female character is infact Charlotte Tyree playing a character Fay.

Week 4

been to Chester Zoo, saw one of my favorite animals, Having lived in Kenya for 10+ years and not been back for at least 4 years, this made me a little home sick and missed not seeing them in the wild.

I beleive this was shot through a fenc, maybe just over it. This curious creature was eyballing something/someone, and look like it was a bout to have a good run for them.

Well, another week, seems the cheetah didnt rank much amongst you lot so heres another one....

Okay week 5 is almost to an end and i have had a bit of time to complete a shot or rather a montage of shots with a comic strip feel.

I have never attmepted anything like this before, I did however have a good idea of the feel of the shots and how the story was meant to go. I have even got a sketch of the planning of the shots and a rough wording. Many thanks to the Lego mafia goon that helped me with this his silence and patience was commendable and followed all my directions without hesitation.

Unfortunatley, i havent continued on my comic strip from the last week, however i have been playing around with my flash guns and a decided to do something i have had in my head for a while. Its my wedding ring and for those with a keen eye it has a carbon fibre inlayed in a Titanium band. I think you can actualyl see the word Titanium in the photo. Shot using a 3 burst flash at 10hz with a shutter speed of 0.4s 2 flashes both grided one slighlty more powerful than the other. It took a while to get the 3 shots in the form of a sphere. only about 60 shots! :D

Let me know what you think.
