So you either have a;

Microsoft XBOX 360

or a;

Sony Playstation 3

If you had your time again, which one would you purchase and why (if you changed from what you have)

i own a ps3. have never bought a 360 though i've played on one a whole bunch of times.

id still buy a ps3. it does exactly what i want it to do and does it very well. 360's are too loud and break too often. which is a shame becuase i really DO want one. give me a black 360 that is as quiet as my ps3 and wont break in 3 weeks, and im sold.

I currently only have a 360. If I really could only have one then I'd still pick the 360 at the moment because it just has more games that interest me. When FFXIII comes out I'd probably trade it in for PS3 though (I won't actually do this, I'd buy a PS3 as well as a 360).

*Hopes this thread doesn't turn into another fanboy flame war thread*

I had a 360, I sold it, and now have a PS3, I would deffinately keep my PS3 over my 360. (but would like another 360 just for the exclusives and to play on live against some buddies who don't have a PS3)

I've got a 360, would have always had a 360, but next year I'm going to switch over when my xbox live sub ends.

I want to play MGS4 and FFXIII and also have a BD player.

Ive got a PS3 and i would still buy a PS3, got it at launch when games were few but still enjoyed what i had, TBH since I got it the only game ive played on PC was Bioshock for a week or 2. I got my PS3 due to the fact that I prefer Sony Exclusives to the Microsoft ones, some of which make there way to the PC eg Gears of War. Nothing wrong with either console, both have great games be it multiplatform or exclusives, in the end buying a console should be about personal game preferences and not any form of brand loyalty.

I have the 360 but i intend to buy both eventually cant say i wouldn't buy the 360 all those months ago if i had the chance again. although its loud it has some excellent games, it just a shame it falls short as a dvd player for the previously mentioned design flaw which is what i use it as most of the time.

The ps3 just doesnt have the games im after at the moment to interest me enough but as a piece of hardware it wipes the floor with the 360(not in terms of power, just reliability,noise and wifi).it's just a shame it doesnt have anything else to back that up for me at the moment. There's certainly a few games i would like but nothing i MUST have. Maybe im only saying that because im not as in tune with console games as i used to be and dont spend half my waking hours playing them :D

360 only for almost 2 years.

I wil end up getting a PS3, but i can't see me buying it for at least another year. It desperately needs some gobsmacking exclusives to get me to buy one.

Had a 360 for just over 8 months, broke twice so I traded it in for a PS3. For me it was the best thing I ever did as I prefer Playstation exclusives and it is a brilliant DVD/BLU-RAY player.

This may not have been the case if RARE had actually come out with some decent games on the 360 but unfortunately they were too few and far between plus very adverage (bar Viva).

Also the console is in my lounge, and I prefer the quietness of the PS3.

360 since launch.

Why just a 360? In all that time I've never been bored. I've had quality game after quality game and now coming into the holidays I just don't have enough time to fit them all in.

If I was to buy one today it would be a tougher choice. On paper with Blu-Ray and Wifi the PS3 looks good; but ultimately, as it should, it comes down to games.

As a rpg fan knowing Mass Effect was coming persuaded to me pick one up at launch and sell the PC. This one title was and still would be enough to make me pick the 360. The second must have title was Bioshock, I have always been just the biggest fan of System Shock 2 so it was another must have. Then add Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Oblivion (out one year earlier) and Fable 2 to the mix and the choice is/was easy.

I'm not saying the PS3 doesn't have it's titles as if I'd have gone down that route I'd have picked many up. It's just that I feel there's no 'must have' games on the platform (for me yet). There's still no exclusive rpg and for all the hype R&C, HS and Uncharted just don't really get me that excited.
