Thinking of getting one of these and replacing the 3800 Venice chip I have. Are the 3800 X2 939 Toledo chips? can't find much out about them. Will it be better for gaming than the 3800 Venice I have?

Thanks

You may see a dip in gaming performance unless you overclock.

Your x3800, 2.4Ghz 512mb cache
X2 3800 2.0 Ghz 512mb cache per core

Unless the game can significantly use dual core then the overall speed will be slower. Most games only fully utilise one core.

most newer 3800's are Manchester cores

i think these differ from Toledo's in they were desigiened with a 512x2 cache from the ground up

unlike toledos which had 1mb cache x2 with half disabled 512x2

think i read toledo's were slightly better clockers
