3D Mark 06 5800 - 4800

Hey I have the same system as you and my 3D Mark score is 6481. Memory is 4 4 4 12 running at 401 mhz Fsb/Dram 3:4. You should get a higher score than you are currently. I did measure my score after a complete reinstall. Am using the latest Ati drivers

I wish I could even get a proper 3D Mark 06 result on the boards lol, my PC dies and reboots at the CPU test, yet runs the latest games resonably well.
Either the CPU test is one hell of a beast to pull off, or these Conroe chips realy do rip my trusty AMD 3200 to pieces.
Yeah I know Conroe rocks and I gotta pull myself out of the 80's PC scene :(

I just tried it again i get a whopping 6651!

Jimbo, You should be getting a better score than me since you are running at 3Ghz and mine is only 2.7Ghz

lol if i tested my current rig on 3dmark06 my cpu would probly die. Then my system would catch alight burn itself to ash then it would shred itself.
Yeah my current system really is that bad. Lets just say 2 and a half year old systems arent performing as they used to.

Anyway yeah i think you should be getting a little more than that tbh, but still not a bad score!

Yeah what the hells going on here? lol.

Can you list me any relevant seetings ie ram and bios? or anything else you did? are you using cats 6.9? what bios version on your p5w dh. Your X1900XT isnt overclocked?

I allways thought mine was behind, I will try another 3dm06 test. :)

EDIT:

Are the above settings the ones your using? ram etc?

@ Drizmod

Just ran 3d mark 06 at stock with the cats 6.9 and everything at stock on the card. Cpu was at stock 2.4ghz and ram was at ddr800 - 5/5/5/15

I got - 5863.

I then ran it overclocked

Cpu 3ghz
333 fsb
ram - 5/5/5/15 - 833 mhz

changed the peg controls all to auto and got - 6168.

Thats way lower than Drizmod, gonna see if I can change my ram to the same as his.

What Motherboard are you using maybe it is the reason your score rips so much. You sure you got a 1900XT and not an XTX Just because with my 1900XT core clocked to the max - 689 and its mem at 774 and my e6600 at 2.7 the max score I got was 6459.

Your SM3 score seems really high, maybe you just got a really good set of parts. The max I got on SM3 was 2546, on SM2 I got 2280 but cpu was same 2392.

I think you must have something extra in your rig your not telling us about like Nitrogen Oxide :D BOOM! :(.

I think you'll need to up the CPU vCore to 1.44 if you want to get much higher than 3.06Ghz. Make sure EIST and C1 are both disabled in the BIOS aswell. I have similar RAM to you and am able to run it at 890Mhz despite it only being PC6400 (800Mhz).

Yeah haven't really tried pushing it yet as I just recived my replacement ram as it was faulty. But at 2.7 at auto it seems pretty stable able to go through 3d mark 06's cpu test but don't think it is 100% stable because call of duty 2 crashed and my computer restarted with a xp "serous error".

Sorry for the late reply

Sorry, I should have made it clear earlier on. The board i'm using is the MSI 975X Platinum PowerUP Edition. I have disabled things like Dynamic overclocking and Intel Speedstep. The only thing I changed was the Bus speed to 301 mhz and manually setting the DRAM timings according to the manufactures spec (4.4.4.12). I should overclock the cpu a little more but im using the stock cooler and on full load it goes all the way to 65 degrees.

My X1900XT is not overcloked and runs at 621mhz (GPU) and 720 mhz (Mem). Im using the latest official ati drivers.

The only thing I can think of why my score might be higher is because I have recenlty done a clean install and only have CS Source,Oblivion and 3DMark06 installed. I have also spent a little time optimising my system as well (set page file to different drive, defraging, turning off unwanted services...etc). Im also using CachemanXP for memory management and theres a load of tweaks in there as well which I have applied.
