Just wondering if anyone is running 3dsmax 11 on a 6950, I've had my finger hovering over the 'buy now' button for a few days now. I've been having some viewport freezing/artifact problems on my 460gtx 1gb in max11 (as have a lot of other folks from what I've been reading, I don't think Nvidea are going to fix this one with a driver update) and as I do a lot of gaming aswell as animation, I don't want to go with a pricey workstation card,an have to swap it out every time I want to play Crysis. I know the 6950's 2gb of on board memory would be helpful for max and mudbox, so if any of you are running these apps on an ATI 6950 any feedback would be appreciated.

Just bought it and in the process answered my own question;- it's fantastic, no more problems with 3dsmax, faster in mudbox and plays all games at full whammy without breaking a sweat , AWESOME. So anyone having the same problems on Nvidea 4 series cards in 3dsmax, I'd highly recommend the HD6950 card rather than splashing out on a workstation card.

I don't use this software but I'm glad you sorted your curiosity out and are happy with your new card :).

Yeah I'm loving this card, only received it this afternoon and managed to install it while my 2 year old was having her nap!and have cranked up a few games and apps and it rocks compared to the 460gtx I'll be doing some serious benchmarking/gamig/drooling tonight once I've put the the little one to bed!!

haha :D

I need to get into a few games myself, tested overclocks on Crysis and played it for about an hour, apart from that and an 8 hour gaming session on Call of Duty last weekend :o, I've hardly played anything and I've had it for over 3 weeks. This needs to change!!. lol

Have fun gaming ;).
