3ghz B3 Q6600 poss bottleneck for xfire 4970's?

As title, my B3 Q6600 wil only oc to 3ghz (stock volts give or take 0.02). Could this give a bottleneck issue with crossfire 4870's (512mb)? If so what processor would you recommend (in MM there's a Q9450 and a E8600 for about £120)

It won't be pushing them to their max - but you will get good useage from the crossfire setup... a decently clocked Q9xxx CPU will help to push the average fps up a bit tho.

try to clock it bit higher b3 should easily do 3.2 ghz if u have better cooling try 3.4

I've tried 3.2 and got greedy and also tried 3.4 but the voltages were getting a bit stupid. Have tried the usual of lowering the multiplyer and raising the fsb but got no joy tbh. Its rock solid at 3ghz tho....

well u can try selling it and buy q9550 or q9650 second hand cost around 140 £.

q9450 has smaller multiplier would be harder to reach bigger speeds

Fair point... will look for a 9550 or 9650 then. Hopefully the huge cache will be a bonus as well
