Hi guys,

Really want a grip for my camera, now I can afford either a Canon one or a 3rd party one.

Canon one can be had for £180
Third party - about £60

Now, I really can't see the difference between the two? surely it can't just be a badge? they are even bloody shaped the same!!

My problem is I'm having a lot of trouble justifying the additional cost for a Canon one, and I'm a bit of a badge whore! and I need to make a decision soon as I have another wedding on Saturday! I'd prefer a grip by then!

What would you do and why?

Advise me o wise ocuk (basically Derek is not included in this summary :p)

Badge Whore and can afford it = Canon ;)

Don't know about any compatibility issues / faults with using a 3rd party grip but if something happens would canon turn round and say no you're not covered insurance wise since you were using a 3rd party add on?

you're mean jake :(

I had the Canon grip for my 7D that I had before, this time round I picked up a Meike grip and to be honest it's just as good. I've not had any issues with it.

theres more reports of the canon grip failing. i.e - if tightened too much the plastic thumb wheel strips the cogs making the only way to remove it via a hammer.

have a rummage over on TP, a lot of people have tried and liked the linkdelight grips..
