Ok, in July I will be going on a 4 week expedition to Peru and I would like a decent camera to take. I currently have an old Kodak DX6340 but its pretty poor, 4x optical zoom and only 3.1 mp and I hear bad reviews about it all the time. I'm open to any advice, price wise, I dont really want to spend more than £300, so not a decent DSLR or anything. Also since its for 4 weeks, so preferebly something which takes just AA batteries so I can buy replacements, I wouldnt risk the chance of taking a charger if it was for lion batteries.

Thanks in advance.

yes. not really pocketable though :)

Depends how big your pockets are!

Its deffinately what I would call a 'manageable' size, and is comparable to the Canon S series cykey recommended.
