Result with four in RAID 0:

Two of them in RAID 0 earlier today:

Right I managed to knacker one of the SATA ports on one of the drives so I'm down to three, but it's still wrong. I'm not sure why, latest drivers, write cache disabled etc. When I install either Vista or XP, even without any drives plugged in, somethings not right. Not sure what but something isn't...

Well I got myself O&O defrag and the drives are in a pretty bad state of fragmentation. Should be finished soon.

I also used lifeguard tools and no errors found. As for write cache, I'm not going to disable it as it's good for Windows, plus it shouldn't hinder my score that much.

I'm not really interested in redundancy as it's only the OS and games that go on the drive. Everything important will be backed up onto another drive.

Anyway, I'm still getting poor rates, even slower now then the ones in the screenshot.

Bit off topic here mate but you have 4 Raptors, I have one and is making some serious grinding noises what is it like with 4?

Fine mate, my Barracuda is louder when seeking

Anyway, fresh install of XP, latest drivers and here's the result. Now with 3 drives remember.

Now on a GA-P35-DS4 and the same woes:

Could it be that one of the drives is a different model number and firmware? I know they are all 8MB cache and 36GB...

I think that's down to the Intel controller mate. I thought that might have been a glitch, but here's a couple of screenshots showing settings and a HD tune benchmark.

Don't ask me why my burst speed is so ridiculously high!
