Hi there,

Around a year ago I posted in this section as I was going to purchase a Plasma...Regretablly I never went for it..

I am once again looking for a 42" plasma, previously a panasonic was recommended...

My budge it £500 - £600, I want it to mainly just want TV and play the odd Wii game on and to watch movies etc...

I would really appreciate your help and support in finding a bang for buck plasma

Please advise as I am a snovice in plasmas

I.e would be ideal if it came with a great resolution and Full HD capabilities as well as an inbuilt freeview tuner...

Im also going to need a wallet bracket and a shelf close to it which will house the Wii...

Please please please help

Thanks in advance...

Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10

I found this whilst it says hd ready a lot of reviews have said the image is on par with a full hd plasma

what do you think of this plasma?

is hd full really that important?

or what about this one its full hd

I've got the HD ready Panasonic 42X10 and the full HD 42G10. I'm watching Sky HD and blu rays through the G10 and Freeview through the X10 although Sky HD is also fantastic through the X10. If your budget is rigid at £500-£600 then I think the 42X10 is the one for you.

Is their much difference in picture quality between the x110 and g10 whilst watching Sky HD?
Do you know if Sky HD is 1080i?

The difference isn't great to be honest, I just wish I'd connected my blu ray to the X10 to compare with the G10. I may try it over the weekend.;) There's a thread over at AV forums comparing the two against each other in great detail if you want to take a look. :)

thanks guys which one is better the

Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10 or PANASONIC VIERA TH-42PZ70BA

With your 4890, did you not get one of the ATI grey DVI to HDMI adaptors? If so use this, so that you can send sound as well if you do not have a seperate amplifier.:)

no i never received the dvi to hdmi converter plug with my 4890 :(

thing is I have 2 pc monitors and want to connect my x10 plasma to my computer

the 4890 gpu has 2 dvi connectors which will take care of my 2 monitors but I dont want to connect my plasma via svideo as its a analogue signal therefore I would lose quality...

Am I correct in assuming I would need to unplug one of my pc monitors each time I wanted to watch something on my plasma then ?

please advise

Not really up to speed with this gen Panasonic models, but 2 from the previous generation. My 42" 1080P screen is brilliant, as is the 37" 720P screen. I'd say the picture on the 37" 720P is better using Virgin Media SD and HD. 720P is really all you need unless you DO have a 1080P feed to put into it.
