I'm gonna buy one, but which to get I don't know! I've seen benchmarks where the 4870 out performs the 4890 by a LONG way. What do you all think? I'll be running it on..

Dual Boot, Win Xp Home 32 bit/Win 7 Home 64 bit (When released)
Asus P5Q Pro Mobo
E8400 @ 3.6
4gb Corsair Dominator DDR2 (8gb Win 7 64 bit)

I've seen benchmarks where the 4870 out performs the 4890 by a LONG way.

I'd go for a single 5870 over 2x 4890 tbh. Less power drain, less heat, no crossfire anomolies and DirectX 11 support. OcUK should hopefully be selling them on the 23rd of this month. Price unknown at this time though :\

If you're deadset on 2x 4800 series, I don't see any reason why the 4890 wouldn't be the fastest...

This, no point at all buying 2 cards when a single card around the corner may be as powerful.

4890 should be faster than the 4870 in all cases. Wait for the new 5000 series, out very soon and if the benchies are accurate it'll be worth considering.
