Howdy all

Currently have a 55" LG C1 & a Sonos Beam 2, I'm now in the market for a 4k player that has all the audio/visual technology that matches the TV, so I can get the most out of both.

Any recommendations around the £300 mark?

UB820EBK is what you want. Ticks every box, superb player.
Excellent, was one of the players I was looking at, so good to hear.

Just two more questions. Connectivity. Running the Beam 2 via the TVs e-arc connection, is it just a case of connecting the player directly to the TV via HDMI 2.1?

Secondly, is there any further picture tuning required? Or will Dolby Vision sort everything? I've already got my TV setup for various image inputs, from HD to 4K to Dolby Vision.

Thanks in advance

You will want to connect the player directly to TV via HDMI 2+. The player will automatically play to the TV Dolby Vision content and 4K if the disc has it as it plays the source content in it's original form.

Well, the Panasonic arrived, all connected and setup correctly and working brilliant. However, I do have one question. Prior to the blu-ray player my LG magic remote controlled the TV and the Sonos beam, which was fine, now however it controls the Panasonic too, meaning whenever I turn my TV on the player turns on as well, which I then have to turn back off with the Panasonic remote. It also means that when I turn my TV off the Panasonic turns back on.

So, is there a way of leaving my magic remote so that it controls the TV & Sonos, but not the Panasonic player? All I can find online is to turn the feature on or off, so the remote controls everything or just the TV, which is less than ideal.

I have a question regarding 4K BR player. Is there enough of a difference between stand alone 4K BR Player and a PS5 Disk version to warrant the £350 Price? I have played my 4K BR Movies on my PS5 on my 49" Sony Bravia 4K in the past and it was fantastic picture quality and motion, i have just purchased a 55" C1 but cant really think a stand alone would be worth 1/3 the price of the tv of an upgrade over the PS5.

UB450 is a very similar but little bit more basic and cheaper alternative. I got it for my dad and was really impressed.

Should be a setting for HDMI CEC on the Panasonic under system settings.
