Yet again, been asked by my uncle to build him a new rig as he's come in to surplus cash. Decided to avoid the X299 route and go with the Z390 route utilizing the new 9th gen i9 chip. The other requirements he has is it's got to have a 2080ti, 1TB M2, and the newer Evolv X case (his previous build has the Evolv)

By the way, he proper loves RGB and has per the previous rig, every component pretty much as to be RGB hence some components are sacrificed for the RGB element (RAM mainly). He loves his Asus stuff

This is what I've come up with so far ...

Any changes or further suggestions? Thanks in advance

@Terrier_Jimlad

Has he seen the new Aorus z390 Xtreme... RGB everywhere , and 16 phases like the Meg

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-XTREME-rev-10#kf

Same spec, but Aorus and saves a grand

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £3,207.32 (includes shipping: £22.50)

Could get a 4k 120hz monitor with cash saved.. or add another grand haha

That or you could add in a second one... Drop to standard 1TB SSD as for gaming, you'd notice little difference over nvme ...

Aorus GPU RGB ...
Use vertical PCIe cable and will be on its side in full glory.
Also 4 year UK warranty

He hates Gigabyte, after the 970 stuff went down and Gigabyte told all owners to do one when other manufacturers helped out, and after a dodgy RMA, he's kind of stuck with Asus and probably always will.

However, the amount of lighting on that is mental - defo one to put forward, cheers!

970 ? You meant he memory only being 3.5gb not 4 from Nvidia ?
Gigabyte rep on here normally helps with RMA which is handy for most member since here

Of Asus, Hero board should be fine and saves cash ! £300+ for a board is steep .

Could save cash by using Dual Asus card instead of Strix

He's already got a decent benq 144hz monitor, only games at 1080, i know i know the 2080 is overkill, so was his 1080ti to be fair. Mainly a gaming rig, usually plays the latest BF and COD, odd game of PUBG, CSGO and Arma thrown in - nowt too fancy!

With a budget like this he should be buying a 27" 1440p or 34" 3440 x 1440 G-Sync monitor.

Lots of overpriced components. The list doesn't even include a monitor. For £4K you can do much better.

I think we already established who ever is buying this likes wasting money, and doesn't care if it's good, just that it's got the right brands and coloured lighting. Who are we to argue with that? :)

He can still have a nice looking pc. I would say £3K on the tower and £1K on a screen would be a better way to allocate it. Spending £4K to game at 1080p is just silly imo.

If he likes rgb you should really look at that gigabyte ram kit. I know it is gigabyte but having 4 rgb ram slots populated vs 2 makes a decent difference in terms of visuals.

You wont know they are gigabyte once they are installed, you will only see the led strips.

One caveat, i do not know if they play nice with aura sync which i imagine is required given the use of asus for the mobo. If they do then great, but if not then forget everything i said.

Oh, and they are lower speed, obviously. They may clock higher since they use b-die but its an unknown.

Highly unlikely Gigabyte would make something that is compatible for a rival brand :D I can't see any mention of Asus Aura in the description so I imagine they only work with Gigabyte Aorus.

:D

That's that then :D

It's a shame more brands don't do dummy sticks.

They have put a patient on it, still quiet on who's OEM for it as well, 90% sure it's team group .
