4x PCI-E card

I'm wondering if a 4X PCI-E card (SATA RAID) can be used in a 16x slot usually dedicated to a graphics card?

Yes but you will only get 1x or 2x speed
if you enable SLI this will give you x8 + x8

has your motherboard not got a 4x slot?

Not sure about bandwidth yet as I'm still building the box but I've got a RocketRAID 2320 in one the PCIe 16x slots of an A8N32 SLi and the card BIOS shows and XP recognises the device so I'd say it's working.

Isn't PCIe 1X about 250Mb/s anyway? That should be sufficient for most arrays.
