Currently i have 2x512MB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800Mhz and in the next few months or so i will be getting some more.

I was wondering if i should just get another 2x512MB and add it to my existing 2x52MB or if i should instead by a 2x1GB pair, and then if i need more upgrade to 3 or 4 gigs.

What i want to know is do you think I will need more than 2GB of ram and if i should just cut my losses before its too late.

I do play a lot of games and occasionally do some encoding .

Other Specs:

Gigabyte GA-965P-S3
Tagan 500w
X1900XT 256MB
Core 2 Duo E6300 (upgrading to Core 2 Quad later this year \ early next year)

2x1Gb would probably be the better option, a lot of people report poor clocks with 4 banks full. Just get the 2gb set and sell your 1gb :)

Will do, thanks. Was thinking of the Crucial Tenth Anniversary as apparently it overclocks well.
