5.1 head set we 7.1 sound card

Hey

right just wondering will i get full qaulity out of 5.1 headphones we a the 7.1 X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card, if i remember rightly you can change what surround sound you want on the sound card can't you?

i mainly listen to music but may have a hour or 2 on bf2 a week so will they do the job perfectly?

Just set the speakers to 5.1 in the X-Fi Console. No quality lost - just the number of chanels reduced.

For music I wouldn't recommend 5.1 headphones. My 5.1 medusas sound rather harsh for music, although things improve dramatically if they're plugged into my hi-fi stereo amp rather than the 5.1 amp provided by speedlink. I believe that only older Medusa sets have a dedicated stereo mode.

5.1 headphones may offer some minor advantage in games, but they represent very poor value for money. You might consider buying the best value conventional 'phones that you can afford.
