'Christian Allen, Serellan, Lead Designer, Creative Director, and Design Director of several AAA game projects for Ubisoft, Red Storm Entertainment, Microsoft, Bungie, and Warner Bros. Games. Christian’s titles include the award-winning Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Halo: Reach. Titles he has contributed to have shipped over 15 million units, and earned over 20 “Game of the Year” awards in various categories.'

Serellan needs funding on a new project, which will be driven by the community, to produce the spiritual successor to games like the original Rainbow Six and SWAT series. It will focus on realistic weapons modeling, squad based play, in a close-quarters battle setting.

Funding is via Kickstarter and is soooo close to reaching its goal. If anyone is interested in this type of game, get over there, now!

5 hours to get 25k?

Sounds interesting, but someone will have to stump up big to get this moving.

The only thing id be concerned with is how does he prove to investors that 200k shows that there is a community out there?

I mean yes its a lot of cash upfront, BUT theres like 4500 backers... they will already get the game and other goodies, so thats not cash in the bank. 4500 backers a game does not make.

Im sure there will be more sales in the end but if I had 500k or 1 million ready to pour into this, id say well you got 200k but only 4-5000 people stumping up for it.... idk, im sure it will go ahead but what if 1 rich idiot said heres 200k, make the game for me :D I just dont see how investors would really go balls in on this.

Backed. They should have done this from the start sigh, if they dont make it thatll be tragic. Fyi he only recently changed the sales pitch to a more appealling named product, before it was a bit wishy washy.

The problem for them is that unlike pCARS they have quite literally nothing to show- no graphics, no level design, no physics, no AI... Hard to sell a game in such state.

I think that pCARS have shown how to for such projects to proceed - get a game engine and make at least an alpha bild which already shows your game's unique appeal... But without even a screenshot to show-... :(

Good luck to them though, a hardcore R6 is what PC gaming's been sorely missing for a few years now!

As one of the comments points out they probably set the first tier too low. half the backers are paying $15, they should have had the first tier at $25 and then theyd be there already, im willing to bet.

Its going too slow, breaking through the 180k barrier but only 3 hours left. Without some major contributions its going to be defeated at the last, somewhere aorund the late 80s early 90s.

I agree Borsch, pCARS is fantastic and the perfect way to get funding. I do have faith in Serellan though and believe that he is a great ambassador for a tactical game.

A few renders at least would have helped massively though.

It is a shame Sleepless, they should have definitely had $25 as the first tier for receiving a copy of the game.
