Before I go ahead and spend it on games, I need some reading!

Never been a massive reader, only read things people have lent me, insisting I read it, or I've found on a shelf somewhere.

Really really enjoyed The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings, not so much The Similirian, too many names I think.

Read some John Grisham, Tom Clancy few others, nothing memorable.

Not too fussed about anything with child-protagonist(s) (Harry Potter etc)

Any classics/gems I should look out for? Already stuck Hitchhiker's Guide on.

More Douglas Adams! Get these if you've done the whole Hitchhiker's set:

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul
The Salmon of Doubt

Also - not something I've started on yet, but Terry Pratchett deserves a look, have a look at the Discworld series. Some day I'm going to read the whole lot.

Terry Pratchet gets another shout. Might not be your thing, but if it is theres loads of them. I've read the entire discworld series and they're all great.

For Fantasy:-

Game of Thrones series by George R R Martin
Legend by David Gemmell (in fact just read them all!)
Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind

For Sci-Fi:-

Not the biggest fan of Sci-fi to tend to just read the Warhammer 40K novels

Gaunts Ghosts by Dan Abnett
Horus Heresy series by various authors
