I've recently updated my work laptop to a XPS 9500 which has a 500-Nit FHD+ 1920 screen (I believe its IPS)
I've not tried gaming on it but work related tasks, text clarity, media streaming and web browsing the picture quality is much better than the Samsung LC27HG70QUXEN 1440p VA panel I'm using with it. I've made sure that the Samsung is set to 10 bits and messed around with the SDR and HDR settings and it's currently using inbuilt sRGB pre set
Is the improved picture quality the result of the difference in panel type IPS/VA or is it due to the 500 plus nits? The laptop is certainly brighter.
I'm not an expert on monitors but does anyone have a 27" - 32" monitor they recommend? Ideally IPS 1440p 144mhz or faster with a high nit count? I've got a 2070 SUPER in my gaming PC and will upgrade to 3070 at some point if that helps as well
The right monitor is more important then budget but would like to keep it under 1k if possible
Cheers
