I'm thinking about getting the Samsung LE27T51B (wanted the 26" Samsung but its more expensive!), I read that its 50Hz only, does this mean I cant play games like Hitman, which will only run in 60Hz?

That's either a typo or you will have misunderstood the specs. I would be amazed if that screen didnt work with 60Hz games.

Edit, yeah its one of the later Samsung screens. It will be fine :)

Not true at all. When the Outfit demo came out I tried to run it on my Samsung LCD TV in HD mode and it said it runs in 60hz only. Just had to unplug the component cables, plug in the composite video cable (the 360 HD AV cable comes with both types), and set the switch on the av connector on the 360 to TV. Then turn the 360 back on, go into TV settings and select 60hz mode. Once 60hz mode was selected, the Outfit would run no problem in HD mode via component. So Hitman may very well be in the same situation. However any modern LCD TV should support 60hz.

That TV does only support 50hz, it is the value model. You can get the 60hz 26inch one for £499 - I did.

I dont see how that can be. In todays market, a HD ready LCD that only does 50Hz

Plenty of people are using them with there 360s, so they must be ok?

It isnt this day and age though it is an old model, still a good TV and works with the 360.

Also are you sure you have seen this version? They are all black unlike the 60hz ones with are glossy black and silver.

I found the Samsung LE26R51BD 26" for £497 so I might be better going for that, it is black and silver and I think a lot of people use the R41 version with no problems.

Isn't the model you are enquiring about the one in the 360 booths?

The one I have is the R73BD, which is about £590. As mentioned before the 360 is set to 50hz and while still connected via component, I had to switch to standard def and then the 360 gives you the option to change to 60hz and then switch back to HD mode.

I would have though (opinion not fact) that all HDs would be capable of 60hz.

I think its the 23" model in the booths. I dont quite follow you though, I was hoping to use my VGA cable, so does that mean I wouldnt be able to use the VGA cable at 60Hz?

You shouldnt have any issues at all, I really dont see a problem with buying that TV and using it with a 360.

The only thing you will need to do is connect the 360 using a 'normal' method (i.e. composite or use the component cable in SD mode) switch the console to 60Hz in the display settings, turn it off then use whichever video connection you like.

Sounds daft I know, but some games seem to pick up on the fact the the console is set to 50Hz, even when it shouldnt matter.

All this will be clear once you actually get the equipment :p
