550D Vs 60D

Saving up the pocket money that the wife leaves me each month and am looking at these two cameras. Was hoping to get one of them in the next few months until a larger than expected gas bill came through.

Anyway I do like the size and build quality of the 60D over the 550D but would I be better off saving the extra and getting the 550D. The HD video recording is important to me. Types of photography will be trying everything that I can, main will be family photos and portraits.

The current lenses I have are an 18-55mm kit lens from a 350D, and a Canon EFS 55-250mm. I will be looking to get rid of these and start with a Canon 50mm 1.4.

I am sticking with Canon simply because it is where I started I really like the menu system on the 350D. Just a Canon fan I guess and being pig headed by not looking at Nikon....lol.

Does the original 5D do video I did not think it did.

I forgot about the swivel/tilt screen so that would be handy. The extra FPS will also be handy down the line as I would hope to go and watch a local football/rugby game and try taking some shots.
