560 out tomorrow

So it's costing £200 for a 1GB 560 with an extra 48 cuda cores over a 460, meh I would rather pay the extra and get a 6950 or 470 that you can pick up for under £200.

This card is replacing the 460, it should be priced at £150-£180.

Its not replacing the 460, its replacing the 470.

The 460 will remain around the £150 price point, the 560 will take the £200 price point. The 470 / 480 are EOL now.

460 has already hit a low, £110.
The 1GB version may stay around the £130 mark.
Only exotics will be around the £150, and i reckon we will see some 560's hovering around the £180 by the end of the month.

Will this card be a similar length to the 460?

Considering that its using the same PCB and Chip as the GTX 460, the answer to that would be yes :)

Its just got all the shaders unlocked, and been improved somehow to work at much higher clocks.

not necessarily as it isn't actually the same chip gf104 to gf114 but it should be the same size so the boards should be similar we will find out tomorrow just how much different they are to the 460

The HD6950 1GB seems to have been released in the US for around $260:

It will be interesting to see how much it will cost in the UK.

Straight conversion at current rates + 20% VAT (plus a tiny amount of rounding up) indicates that it should arrive at £199 inc VAT. However, that's the current price of the 1Gb 6870 and so if it get's too close to that price then no one will buy those cards.

The cheapest 2Gb 6950 here at OCuk is £235 and so that leaves the new 1Gb 6950 to be priced somewhere in the middle. At a *guess* I would say £215 to £220 inc VAT.

The pricing of these new 560 cards later today might cause AMD to lower their prices on cards in this area over the next few days. If they do then this would give them more of a window to get price of the 1Gb 6950 nearer to the £200 inc VAT mark without eating into sales of the 1Gb 6870.

The HD6950 2GB can already be had for between £210 to £230.

I only checked 2 other stores outside of OCuk and saw £225 inc vat as the lowest. If there are lots of other stores (that I didn't check) already near the £210 price point then perhaps that might be the card that gets pushed to £200 inc vat once these new prices filter in.
