Long story short, used to live in an NTL area 4 years ago (Ellesmere Port), was on a 1mb line back then... Moved to rural wales, and have been stuck on a sucky 56k line ever since (too far from the exchange to get ADSL)... Moving back home, so will be back in a broadband area, although now, it's no longer NTL, its Virgin Media...

Would love to get their top 20mb line (which they offer), but what else would i need to buy to go wireless with 3 pc's... I know nothing about wireless broadband, but have skimmed through this thread for anything relating to NTL/VM...

From what i can gather, i would need a 300Mbps router, PLUS, a 300Mbps wireless pci adapter (for my pc), as i'd love the full 20mb speed over wireless for downloading files, and the other 2 pc's could be fitted with 54Mbps wireless pci adapters, as they'll only be used for email/browsing...

If so, would the D-Link DIR-655 300Mbps Gigabit Edition Wireless Cable/DSL Router and the D-Link DWA-547 300Mbps Wireless Desktop PCI Network Adapter be ok for wireless on an NTL (Virgin Media) 20mb connection?

Thanks for the reply... As stated before, i am totally clueless when it comes to wireless networking...

Glad that a 54Mbps router is good enuff, as they are considerably cheaper... :)
