as per title,

I'm looking as the asus direct cu models as a potential upgrade at 149.99/191.99 respectively. The main reason being that I'm a colour coding snob and these match my crosshair board very nicely.

Question is, is it worth the money and will i see a noticable performance gain over my 5770. Also, is the 7870 worth the extra 40 quid over the 7850?

I mainly play on Arma ii, BF3, TF2 and FSX (with a LOT of addons) at 1600x900. I am likely to be an early adopter of arma III as well.
rest of specs:

phenom 555 quad at 4ghz - May upgrade to an 8350 but this is looking unlikely in the near future
Crosshair V
8gb ram
crucial m4
500w ocz modxtreme
thermaltake tsunami case - May be a tad length limited here. With a rough estimate I reckon the longest card it could take is 10in

Whilst i was troubleshooting, I put my 7870 in my phemon II running at 3.4GHz. It didn't improve very much at all over my 3870x2, in Crysis 2.

My 3870x2 + i7 860 @3.7GHz performed better in Crysis 2 than my 7870 in my Phenom II at 3.4GHz. So I don't think it is worth it.

Oh, you've decided against it anyway!
