ATI better not get ideas about pricing their 6970 at more than 320 or I'm out of this and it's a few more months without eyefinity for me.

Bound to be a nice silly price when they first come out. Nvidia hoping for as much as possible til the 6970 comes out with 95% the performance for £350. The gtx580 then drops to £400ish.

At a price that steep though i would wait to at least see what the 6970 does. I wouldnt mind going back to nvidia but ATI have been better for last few years with price/performance on higher cards. I do hope they compete better this time round.

We should sack it all off & buy sli/cf, get better performance & save money & give the V's to the them trying to take advantage of our easily opened wallets.

For ref 480 was $499 at launch so this could mean a price point of ~£480

This gives me no end of frustration since when does $1 ever equal £1? The exchange rate at the last time I looked was around $1:£1.7 so there's no way they should be selling there wares at that sort of price.

Not even the diehards are that faithful it wasn't until the GTX480 started coming down in price and was below the HD5970 that enthusiasts started buying the GTX480. You could tell it wasn't shifting as OCUK always had stock available when it was well known that yields were pretty dire and production was limited.
