5gbps usb c cable can it do 10gbps?

Was wondering if a usb cable type a to c rated at 5gbps can do 10gbps or is a specific cable rated for that speed required?

It depends on what the E-marker chip inside the cable is capable of. I didn't believe that USB C cables contained chips, until I took one apart and saw one with my own eyes.

It also dictates the maximum transmission speed, ie: 480 Mbps, 5 Gbps, etc.
